Failure Analysis of Butane Spherical Tank Flange Cover Crack

چکیده
In response to the crack failure phenomenon of lower flange cover a butane spherical tank in certain petrochemical company, reason was analyzed through macroscopic observation, material analysis, scanning electron microscopy metallographic test impact etc. The results show that fillet weld is stress concentration area, and after period use, internal gradually releases. addition, dislocations grains gather, causing cracks initiate from within delay occurrence cracks, leading brittle fracture cover.
